Hagop Bedoyan has spent the past 25 years representing debtors, creditors, trustees and creditors’ committees both in and out of bankruptcy proceedings. Hagop heads the firm’s bankruptcy and restructuring practice group, consisting of four partners and three associates, making it the largest insolvency and restructuring group among law firms in Central California.
Over the past several years, Hagop has been the lead bankruptcy counsel in several agricultural Chapter 11 bankruptcies, including the representation of eight related dairy and calf-raising entities in three different states with over $100 million of debt.
In addition to representing agricultural entities, Hagop has represented a diverse group of companies, including a multi-million dollar successful reorganization of two related industrial companies and Allegiant Airlines, a regional airline company now based in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the past five years, Hagop represented related, multiple developer entities in one of the largest real estate bankruptcies filed in the San Joaquin Valley with projects in several counties.
Recently, Hagop served as lead Committee Counsel in the Chapter 11 bankruptcy of County Bank’s holding company, Capital Corp. of the West, which distributed over $50 million to creditors.
Hagop was the first attorney in Fresno County to be certified as a Specialist in Bankruptcy Law by the California State Bar’s Board of Legal Specialization, and served as chair of that organization from 2011 through 2012.
A frequent speaker at both local and statewide continuing education programs on the subject of bankruptcy and insolvency law, he has taught bankruptcy law as an adjunct faculty member for the State Center Community College District’s paralegal program.
Hagop is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the publisher’s highest designation, and has been selected as a Northern California Super Lawyer for 2012 and 2013.
